Staff Profiles
Georgina Te Amo – Head Teacher/Manager
Georgina has been with The Redwood for 3 years. This year Georgina is completing her final papers towards a Master’s in Education majoring in Special Education with Massey University.
Georgina and her partner Albert have one daughter, she attends local school Havelock North Primary.
Jenny Roberts – Teacher/Educator
Jenny is employed full time and holds a Bachelor of Education (Early Years 0-8) Degree which she gained through Massey University. Through achieving this degree, Jenny has gained an undertsanding and knowledge of both the Early Childhood and Primary School curriculum and has an in depth appreciation of the process of transitioning children from Kindergarten to Primary School.
Jenny has three children (16, 14 and 12) who keep her very busy. She is a keen runner and participates in endurance races. Jenny also has a passion for horses and enjoys riding with her daughter.
Rebecca Doohan – Teacher/Educator
Rebecca is employed full time and has recently moved to Hawkes Bay to be with her fiance after living in Wellington. She has studied a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) through Victoria University and is excited to graduate in May 2011. Rebecca works full time in the Kindergarten.
Albert Samuel – Teacher/Educator
Albert is employed full time and is one of our qualified teachers. He has recently completed his Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) with the New Zealand Tertiary College and will be graduating in April 2012. Albert strengthens our teaching team by supporting teacher learning and understanding about how boys learn and develop. Albert is a keen sports person and this is incorporated through his teaching practice.
Anna Toulmin – Teacher/Educator
Anna has just completed her Bachelor of Education (Early Years 0 – 8) degree through Massey University. She is looking forward to graduating in May. Anna is beginning her teachers registration while working in the Kindergarten.
Sarah Dever – Teacher/Educator
Sarah is employed full time in the Daycare, she has completed her Diploma in Teaching (Early Childhood Education) and has completed her Teachers Registration in January 2012. She is a proud mother of her Son (2) and has many years expericne working with babies, toddlers and young children.
Liz Payne
Liz lives in Havelock North with her husband and two daughters. She graduated from Massey University College of Education in 1998 and has been in ECE since then.
Liz enjoys imaginary play with children and loves celebrating individual achievements. She plays netball for Havelock North and loves to go camping.
Lara Beard – Teacher/Educator
Lara joined our team full time in 2010 with previous experience in Interior Decorating. As a mother of two boys Lara brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from her motherhood to date. Lara’s youngest son Ned attends Redwood Kindergarten and her eldest son Max attends Clive School. Lara is considering studying towards her Early Childhood Teaching qualification in 2012.
Annaliese Barnett – Teacher/Educator
Annaliese is currently in her fourth and final year of studying towards her Bachelor of Education (Primary level). As well as working at The Redwood she is a nanny to 3 boys. She loves working with children of all ages and spends her time working between both The Redwood Kindergarten and The Redwood Daycare.
Meagan Renall – Teacher/Educator
Meagan started her three year Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) with EIT in February 2012. Meagan commenced her employment with The Redwood in March 2011 and is working part time in the Daycare while completing her study.
Meagan has a boy (2.5) who is transitioning from The Redwood Daycare to The Redwood Kindergarten at present.
Michelle List – Education Support Worker
Michelle is employed full time and supports both the Kindergarten and the Daycare teaching team. She attended Wellington Nannies College in 1998 which gave Michelle the opportunity to work at Mt Ruapehu in their creche. She has now enrolled at the New Zealand Tertiary College to complete a certificate in Early Childhood Education.
Sonia Manisty – Business Manager
Sonia has been with The Redwood for three years as Business Manager to provide support and direction, along with the day to day functions of administration, financial management, marketing and project management. Sonia has a strong background in business with previous employment in highly sucessful and iconic Hawkes Bay companies as well as being the Administration Manager/Director for her and her husbands building company (KSM Building Limited). Sonia and Kenley have two girls (4 and 2) whom attend the Kindergarten and Daycare.
